A holiday escape to Miami: tons of sunshine, endless beaches, plenty of people watching, more golf courses than you would know what to do with, and infinite shopping and dining choices to fit every style, taste and budget. Why, after just thinking of the choices, do you need a vacation from your vacation? Or wouldn’t you rather turn your vacation mayhem down a notch for just a minute (or ninety) and take a hotel spa break. When better to do this than during Miami’s Spa Month celebration.  Just think: pack up a beach bag for the kids and leave them with a sitter by the pool; your hubby, his golf clubs and his buddies go off to the golf courses; and you, well, you with a drink in one hand and a magazine in the other while you wait to be pampered.

Thanks to the kind folks at the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Miami will be kicking off its sixth annual celebration starting July 1st and swaying all the way to August 31st. A time of pure bliss and relaxation as you enjoy therapeutic massage treatments, mani-pedi specials, hair styling, aromatic facials and more, all at the fraction of its normal cost. From Bal Harbour to South Beach and Aventura to Brickell and even the Design District, participants (found here: http://www.miamispamonth.com/participants.htm) will be featuring all sorts of special treats for its indulgers.

Why not visit the Biltmore Spa in Coral Gables for a 70 minute, $99 massage (that’s a savings of almost $100) while overlooking the historic and beautiful 23,000 square foot swimming pool, which once featured elaborate aquatic shows. Or you can mosey on over to Emena Spa in the newest, hippest part of town: Design District. For just $99 you can enjoy 110 minutes of a heavenly Swedish massage followed by some custom organic facial goodness.

As a side note, the Biltmore offers a few dining options, including a quaint little restaurant tucked away by the golf course, appropriately named The 19th Hole, where you could grab a quick, yummy bite to eat after your relaxing spa getaway while the hubby finishes up on the 6,800-yard, 18-hole, par-71, championship golf course. And if you decide you’d like to try a more epicurean afternoon in the Design District, you’ll be sure to have many after spa options when it comes to dining, from Greek grub like grilled octopus or Mufaletta with Roast Beef at Mandolin Aegean Bistro, to some authentic tacos and guacamole at Mercadito Midtown.

Truly, the possibilities are endless and why limit yourself to just one massage??? Consider Miami Spa Month your “personal rejuvenation buffet” at your service, where you could test-drive a few spas for the price of one.

Enjoy!
